Job summary

The City of Boroondara is seeking an Attendant Operator to join the Transfer Station and Yard Maintenance team at the Waste and Recycling Centre. The role involves receiving, organizing and cartage of waste and providing public service duties across a busy site open 7 days a week.

You will work Tuesday to Saturday, 42.5 hours per week, with an annual salary around A$88,850.32 plus Superannuation. Prior waste industry or construction experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Waste industry or related construction sectors.
• Current licences to operate Backhoe, Forklift and Front-end Loader.
• Strong safety and OHS awareness on site.

Responsibilities

• Morning shift: receive council trucks and guide parking for unloading.
• Afternoon: operate Transfer Station for public waste deposits and recycling.
• Direct the public and manage traffic directions for waste disposal areas.
• Load waste onto trailers for transport to landfill or sorting sites.
• Cross-train across duties: control room, plant operations, yard maintenance and emergencies.
