Job summary

Harmony Australasia requires a skilled Transfer Crusher Operator for CSA Mine, near Cobar, NSW. You will coordinate underground truck unloading at the crusher and operate a loader and rock breaker to assist crushing processes. The role runs on a 7/7 days & nights roster with residential basis and a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include maximizing loads, maintaining equipment, and ensuring ore vs waste is correctly managed, while complying with tele-remote procedures and site standards.

Qualifications

Job description

The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. CSA Mine has recently joined Harmony Australasia, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The acquisition underpins Harmony’s strategy to expand its Australasian footprint and establish a strong, diversified copper portfolio, complemented by the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, currently under construction, and set to become the state’s largest open‑pit copper mine upon commissioning. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Transfer Crusher Operator. As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for the coordination of truck fleet unloading at the crusher to ensure smooth and efficient production operations. Operation of the rock breaker and loader to assist in the initial crushing processes.

Working on a 7/7 days & nights rotational roster, this position is available on a residential basis only.

Duties will entail the following, however not limited to:

Management of the underground trucking fleet to ensure that they are fully utilised.

Ensuring truck loads are maximised.

Roadwork maintenance and housekeeping.

Correctly identify and manage ore and waste.

Strict compliance with tele-remote procedures.

Ensuring tram and loading packages are maintained.

Monitoring, reporting, and conducting thorough equipment prestart and shutdown inspections.

About You

To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes:

Previous underground mining experience driving a loader (essential).

Current driver’s licence and the ability to safely drive through tight tunnels.

Efficient bucket control and loading skills.

Driving to ground conditions and observing, reporting hazards.

Good communication skills and team orientated.

A strong commitment to safety and adherence to mining protocols.

Organisational skills with the ability to set and meet daily targets.
