Job summary

Harmony Australasia's CSA Mine in Cobar, NSW, seeks an experienced Ore Processing Supervisor to lead daily operations in the ore processing plant.

You will supervise processing teams, optimize crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, and maintain safety, quality, and compliance while driving performance improvements. This role offers a DIDO 7/7 roster or residential basis, with opportunities to grow within an international mining group.

Qualifications

• Experience in ore processing and metallurgical operations.

• Sound knowledge of mining safety regulations and risk management practices.

Job description

The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-gradeCSA copper minein Cobar, NSW and is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focusedOre Processing Supervisorto lead and coordinate daily operations within our ore processing plant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with strong operational and technical knowledge of crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, and associated processing activities.

This position is offered on a DIDO 7/7 roster - days/nights or residential basis.

Reporting to the Processing Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

Supervising and coordinate day-to-day ore processing operations.

Leading, mentoring, and developing processing operators and shift personnel.

Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with site safety systems and procedures.

Monitoring plant performance and implement strategies to maximize throughput and recovery.

Coordinating maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

Reviewing and analysing production data, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Ensuring compliance with environmental and quality standards.

Conducting pre-start meetings, shift handovers, and incident investigations as required.

Maintaining accurate production, safety, and operational reports.

Fostering a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrated experience in ore processing, mineral processing, or metallurgical operations.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a processing plant environment.

Strong understanding of crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, and filtration processes.

Sound knowledge of mining safety regulations and risk management practices.

Ability to interpret plant performance data and drive process improvements.

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.

Relevant processing, metallurgy, or mining qualifications highly regarded.
