Job summary

Harmony Australasia operates CSA Mine in Cobar, NSW, inviting applications for the Production Driller role to support underground drilling operations.

In this role you will operate EPIROC drill rigs, perform pre-start checks, manage hazards, and ensure alignment with drill plans and survey instructions. A 2:2 days/nights roster and residential/DIDO/FIFO options are available.

Job description

The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. CSA Mine has recently joined Harmony Australasia, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The acquisition underpins Harmony’s strategy to expand its Australasian footprint and establish a strong, diversified copper portfolio, complemented by the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, currently under construction, and set to become the state’s largest open‑pit copper mine upon commissioning. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

Join our team as a Production Driller in Cobar! We’re offering multiple opportunities for motivated individuals to become a vital part of our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for drilling production, service and cable holes to design and standard.

Working on a 2:2 weeks (days & nights) roster, this position is available on a residential basis, DIDO, or FIFO from Brisbane or Sydney.

About You

• Experience with EPIROC drill rigs
• Minimum three (3) years in an underground mining role
• Conduct pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on drilling equipment
• Read and follow drill plans, markings, and survey instructions
• Maintain safe work areas, manage hazards, and follow underground safety procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to pass a medical
