Job summary

Contract Resources Pty Ltd seeks a Training & Competency Administrator to coordinate internal and external workforce training, maintain competence records, and support development of training plans. The role is based in Perth, WA, with hybrid working options and 3–5 days per week flexibility.

You will work closely with employees, operational teams, training providers, and stakeholders to ensure ongoing training, competency, and compliance across our projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Training Administration, Competency Administration, Workforce Administration or similar role.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Mining, Industrial Services, Construction, or related operational industry preferred.
  • Understanding of training compliance, competency management, and workforce development processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical assessments.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling and booking of internal and external training programs across locations.
  • Maintain training and competency records, ensuring certifications and qualifications remain current.
  • Support development and implementation of workforce training plans aligned with operations.
  • Monitor training compliance and identify upcoming renewals and gaps.
  • Liaise with RTOs, training providers, and stakeholders to facilitate delivery.
  • Coordinate online training requirements and monitor completion rates.
  • Maintain training databases and competency matrices with up-to-date information.
  • Ensure training activities meet legislative, client and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with Workforce Planning and Operations for resource readiness.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, leaders, and training providers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance capability and compliance.

About The Role

Due to continued growth and ongoing operational requirements, Contract Resources is seeking an experienced and motivated Training & Competency Administrator to join our team based in Perth, WA. Reporting to the Training Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating internal/external workforce training, maintaining competency and compliance records, and supporting the ongoing development and capability of our operational workforce. Working closely with employees, operational teams, training providers, and key stakeholders, you will help ensure our people remain trained, competent, and compliant.

Based out of our Jandakot office, this role offers hybrid working opportunities and flexibility for candidates seeking between 3 to 5 days per week. It is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business and make a meaningful contribution to workforce development and compliance.

Duties will include but are not limited to
  • Coordinate the scheduling and booking of internal and external training programs for employees across multiple locations
  • Maintain training and competency records, ensuring employee certifications, licence's, and qualifications remain current and compliant
  • Support the development, coordination, and implementation of workforce training plans aligned with operational and business requirements
  • Monitor training compliance requirements and proactively identify upcoming training renewals and competency gaps
  • Liaise with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), training providers, operational teams, and internal subject matter experts to facilitate training delivery
  • Coordinate online training requirements and monitor employee completion rates
  • Maintain training databases and workforce competency matrices, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Ensure training activities are delivered in accordance with legislative, client, and company requirements
  • Collaborate with Workforce Planning and Operations teams to support resource planning and workforce readiness
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, leaders, training providers, and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workforce capability, compliance, and training effectiveness
Requirements & Experience Needed
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Training Administration, Competency Administration, Workforce Administration, or similar role
  • Previous experience within Oil & Gas, Mining, Industrial Services, Construction, or a related operational industry will be highly regarded
  • Understanding of training compliance requirements, competency management, and workforce development processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to pass Pre‑employment Medical Assessments
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence (preferred)
