Job summary

Indie College seeks a Full-Time Trainer and Assessor to join our Lavington College campus, delivering training and assessment to the Student cohort in line with the relevant training package and Indie’s strategies.

Indie College supports Trainers with paid professional development, all training materials and compliance requirements, and a clear upskilling pathway to help staff grow in their roles.

Qualifications

  • Current Driver Licence
  • Own a reliable vehicle (registered and insured)
  • Annual National Police Check (issued in the 3-months prior to appointment)
  • Current Working with Children Check in states of operation
  • Coaches are required to complete the company study phase within 6 weeks to 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and assessment to Students in line with the qualifications
  • Provide a flexible and engaging approach to delivering educational programs
  • Adapt training style to Students' learning needs
  • Demonstrate resilience and interpersonal skills to engage with a mixed cohort of Students
  • Maintain professional boundaries and complete documentation per policy
  • Transport Students to and from sessions as permitted
  • Work cohesively in a team environment
  • Undertake regular training to follow policies on Child Safe Standards and Mandatory reporting

Job description

Indie College is seeking a FullTime Trainer and Assessor (Coach) to join us at our Lavington College campus. This role requires delivering training and assessment to the Student cohort, in line with the relevant training package and the company’s training and assessment strategies.

Indie College supports Trainers and Assessors with paid professional development, all training materials and compliance requirements, and are committed to on-going improvements and efficiencies so you can focus on engagement and delivery.

Indie has a formal training framework to upskill, support and supervise new Trainers and Assessors or industry professionals wanting a career change.

Indie College supports young people to re-engage with education and training.

Our programs empower students to overcome personal barriers that have led to their disengagement from education.

Indie College is a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing alternative, accredited courses at locations around Australia.

Indie courses are delivered in either one-on-one, small or large group settings.

Key responsibilities:
  • Upon completion of all relevant Qualifications deliver training/assessment to Students
  • Provide a flexible and engaging approach to delivering educational programs to the Student cohort
  • Adapt training style and delivery method to accommodate Student's learning needs
  • Demonstrate resilience and interpersonal skills to engage with a mixed cohort of Students
  • Maintain professional boundaries in the role
  • Complete all documentation in line with company policy and procedures
  • Manage challenges and barriers faced with delivering alternative education to the Student cohort
  • Transport Students to and from sessions as permitted
  • Time management skills, administrative skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written, oral, and digital literacy skills, and attention to detail
  • Work within the requirements set out within company’s training and assessment strategies
  • Work cohesively in a team environment
  • Undertake regular training to ensure you understand and follow policies and procedures in regards to Child Safe Standards and Mandatory reporting.
  • Complete annual professional development that is provided by Indie
  • Current DriverLicence

  • Coaches are required to complete the company study phase requirements over a timeframe of 6 weeks to 12 months.

Hours of Work:
  • Monday to Friday - 8.30 am to 4.30pm.
  • Christmas Closure period (Dec/Jan,10 A/L days)
Remuneration:
  • Level 4 (Indie Education Enterprise Agreement 2026 - 2029), currently $89,698 per annum.
  • In addition, Coaches receive a fuel allowance of $300 per fortnight, making a total of $97,498 per annum, plus superannuation (on base salary).
