Job summary

Westgold Resources Limited is seeking a Trainer to develop workforce capability at the Bluebird Processing Plant in Western Australia. You will deliver inductions, training, and competency assessments while supporting WHS compliance and safety leadership across operations.

The role involves engaging operators, supervisors and contractors, maintaining training records, and contributing to incident investigations to drive safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Extensive operational experience in a gold processing plant.
• Experience delivering training, competency assessments, VOCs and task-based assessments.
• WHS knowledge including WA requirements and safety standards.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent.
• Certificate III in Resource Processing or Process Plant Operations.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence and ability to obtain Police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver site inductions ensuring all personnel are compliant and competent.
• Deliver training and competency-based assessments across operational roles.
• Support WHS compliance including critical risk controls and Principal Mining Hazard awareness.
• Engage frontline teams including operators, supervisors and contractors.

Reporting to the site leadership team, the Trainer plays a key role in developing workforce capability, strengthening safety performance and ensuring training compliance across the Bluebird Processing Plant.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Deliver site inductions ensuring all personnel are compliant and competent
• Deliver training and competency‑based assessments across operational roles
• Support WHS compliance including critical risk controls and Principal Mining Hazard awareness
• Engage frontline teams including operators, supervisors and contractors
• Maintain accurate training records and ensure data integrity
• Contribute to ICAM investigations and safety improvement through feedback, mentoring and WHS leadership

What You Need

• Extensive operational experience in a gold processing plant
• Experience delivering training, competency assessments, VOCs and task-based assessments
• Strong WHS knowledge, including the WHS Act 2020 (WA), WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 (WA), Principal Mining Hazards and critical risk controls
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or accepted equivalent)
• Certificate III in Resource Processing, Certificate III in Process Plant Operations, or equivalent processing qualification
• Current C Class Driver's Licence
• National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)

HIGHLY REGARDED

• Certificate IV in Process Plant Technology
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Experience conducting incident investigations (ICAM or similar)
