Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services is seeking a Trainee Water Treatment Operator for our Mount Piper Power Station Water Treatment Facility near Lithgow. You will receive practical training while helping operate and maintain essential water treatment equipment, with a path to a long-term career in water operations.

No water treatment experience is required if you are safety focused, mechanically minded and willing to learn.

Qualifications

• No water treatment experience required; willingness to learn.
• Safety conscious with reliability and teamwork mindset.
• Interest in machinery, maintenance or plant operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate water treatment equipment.
• Carry out routine plant inspections and checks.
• Assist with basic maintenance and repairs.
• Collect water samples and perform testing.
• Identify and report equipment or process issues.
• Maintain accurate operational records.
• Keep plant and work areas clean and safe.
• Participate in shift handovers and toolbox talks.
• Work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

What you'll Do

• Monitoring and operating water treatment equipment
