Job summary

Freighter Group in Brooklyn, NSW, is seeking qualified Fabricators, Welders (Boilermakers), or Vehicle Body Builders to join our trades team and build Australia’s leading trailers.

You will manufacture, assemble, modify and repair truck and trailer bodies to high quality and safety standards, reading drawings and working with steel, aluminium and stainless steel.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified in Fabrication, Welding (Boilermaking), or Vehicle Body Building.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job orders.
• Strong welding, fabrication and metalworking skills.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Immediate availability for full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, fit, and repair truck and trailer bodies to specification.
• Perform cutting, bending, welding, assembly, and finishing.
• Fabricate and weld steel, aluminium, and stainless-steel components.
• Modify, repair, and maintain vehicle bodies, trailers, and accessories.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and job orders.
• Ensure all work complies with quality, design, and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, clean work environment.
• Contribute to the manufacture of Australia's market-leading semi-trailers.

Your Role: Build Quality and Deliver Excellence

As a Qualified Fabricator, Welder, or Vehicle Body Builder, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, modifying, repairing, and maintaining transport equipment and vehicle bodies to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Who We Are Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Trade qualification in Fabrication, Welding (Boilermaking), Vehicle Body Building, or equivalent.
• Strong welding, fabrication, and metalworking skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
• Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Available to commence full-time employment immediately.
