Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and enforce relevant legislation, Local Laws and Council policies.
• Strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a commitment to customer-focused service delivery.
• Ability to undertake field-based work, including CBD parking patrols, and manage a variety of compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with community members to resolve concerns through education, guidance and compliance activities.
• Develop positive relationships with residents and businesses using negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills.
• Promote a professional, approachable and customer-focused image of Council within the community.
• Respond to customer requests, maintain records and contribute to the effective operation of the Local Laws team.
• Interpret and enforce relevant legislation, policies and Local Laws where required.
• Participate in the emergency after-hours roster and undertake parking patrols and compliance activities across the municipality.
