Job summary

ASX is seeking a hands-on engineer for the Futures Trading Technology team to build and support critical market infrastructure for the ASX 24 Futures Exchange. You will work on vendor and in-house trading solutions in Linux, writing automation and providing L3 production support.

You will troubleshoot servers, networks and databases, participate in data engineering initiatives, and contribute to QA testing across hybrid environments. Flexible hybrid work options are offered.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering in low-latency electronic trading environments.
• Experience supporting complex trading systems in Linux.
• Scripting in Shell, Python and Perl.
• Strong network fundamentals and troubleshooting skills.
• Relational databases knowledge for trading data.
• Cloud environments (public/private) and virtualized concepts.
• Experience with packet capture tools.
• Experience with data warehouses and data lakes.

Responsibilities

• Embedded within the Futures Trading Technology Platforms Team, building and supporting market infrastructure for ASX 24 Futures Exchange.
• Support vendor and in-house trading software in Linux, performing builds and L3 production incident support.
• Develop automation tooling using Shell, Python or Perl.
• Troubleshoot server, network or database issues in production.
• Contribute to data engineering standards and best practices.
• Perform Non-Functional testing in QA environments.
• Work across On-Premises and Cloud environments.
