Job summary

Susquehanna is seeking a Production Engineer to join our Sydney team, working with technologists, traders, and researchers to build, monitor, and support a highly automated trading desk on Linux/Unix.

You will design and implement Python and Bash tooling, monitor a distributed Linux-based trading system, and collaborate with Platform Engineering on deployment, imaging, and configuration, while coordinating with traders, network, security and data teams. Weekend work is required on occasion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Full working rights to work in Australia.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems, Python and Bash.
• Experience supporting production or mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Python and Bash scripts to monitor health, performance, and dependencies of a production environment.
• Monitor and support a distributed Linux-based trading system.
• Partner with Platform Engineering on server imaging, testing, deployment, and system configuration.
• Act as liaison between trading desk and network, security, data, and platform teams on production issues and new setups.
• Provide multi-level production support for traders, quants, and researchers.
• Improve system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across the trading stack.
