Job summary

Quarry & Mining Manufacture (QMM) is seeking a Trades Assistant for the night shift at our Wollert facility in Melbourne. You will support maintenance activities alongside Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters to ensure safe, efficient operations.

This hands-on role requires experience in quarry/mining environments, a strong safety mindset, and a willingness to learn within the quarry and mining industry. Competitive hourly rates offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in quarry, mining, heavy industry, or similar environments.
• High Risk Work License held or willing to obtain.
• Confined Space Entry and/or Working at Heights tickets (highly regarded).
• Mechanical aptitude or general fitting experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication and proactive attitude.
• Reliable transport and strong work ethic.

Quarry & Mining Manufacture (QMM) is a subsidiary of Tasmea Limited and we offer a comprehensive range of design, manufacture, fabrication, and maintenance services to construction materials (concrete, quarrying, cement, asphalt), mining, minerals, infrastructure, recycling and metal refining sectors.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Trades Assistant to join our team on the night shift at our Wollert facility in Melbourne. Working alongside our Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters, you will support quarry maintenance activities, equipment upkeep and general site housekeeping to help ensure safe and efficient operations.

As part of the maintenance team, you will assist with a variety of mechanical and maintenance tasks across the site, contributing to equipment reliability and operational performance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety and a willingness to learn and develop within the quarry and mining industry.

What You'll Be Doing

Assist fitters and maintenance personnel with mechanical tasks

About You

Previous experience in a quarry, mining, heavy industry, or similar environment

High Risk Work License

Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
