Job summary

MAYDAY Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Trade Assistant in Western Sydney, supporting maintenance activities at a large-scale heavy industrial facility. You will work alongside skilled trades and assist with mechanical repairs using hand and power tools.

Role includes forklift operation, material handling, and project support across fixed plant and production equipment. Prior TA or maintenance experience and a forklift ticket are required; Australian PR preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Mechanical TA or Maintenance Assistant.
• Forklift ticket and white card.
• Confident using hand tools and power tools.
• Australian PR.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Fitters, Boilermakers and Plumbers with maintenance and repair activities.
• Using hand tools and power tools to support mechanical repairs.
• Assisting with equipment repairs, installations and project work.
• Supporting preventative and breakdown maintenance across heavy industrial machinery.
• Operating a forklift to move materials, components and equipment around site.
• Material handling and general workshop duties.
• Assisting with maintenance across fixed plant and production equipment.
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

• Night Shift: Monday – Thursday 7:00pm–5:30am & Friday 5:00pm–3:30am
• Saturday: 1:30pm–7:30pm
• $39/hr + 30% night shift loading on the first 38 hours
• Overtime: Earn up to $155k + super.

The Role:

Working alongside experienced Maintenance Fitters, Boilermakers and Plumbers, you'll play an important role in supporting maintenance activities across a large-scale heavy industrial processing facility.

This is a hands-on position offering exposure to a wide range of mechanical equipment, fixed plant and maintenance activities.

Day to day, you'll be involved in:
