Job summary

Trojan Recruitment Group is seeking a Maintenance Boilermaker / Fitter in Campbellfield, VIC. You will carry out hands-on maintenance, welding and fabrication, and preventative upkeep across conveyors, hoists and industrial machinery.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, read drawings and work with safety procedures. The role offers day hours with occasional overtime and a pathway to permanency.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Boilermaker or Fitter.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills across multiple processes.
• Experience with industrial plant and production equipment.
• Current Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence.
• Current Confined Space ticket.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs.
• Welding, fabrication and steel repairs across multiple processes.
• Maintain conveyor systems, hoists and related equipment.
• Read technical drawings and specifications when required.
• Keep maintenance records up to date.
• Assist other trades and maintain a clean, safe work area.

We're seeking an experienced maintenance tradesperson who combines confident welding and fabrication skills with a strong mechanical maintenance background.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs and general plant maintenance across conveyor systems, hoists, production equipment and other industrial machinery. It's ideal for someone who enjoys more than just welding and wants to put their broader trade skills to use.

Work Arrangements:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm.
• Alternative working arrangements may be considered by agreement.
• Occasional afternoon shifts may be required, with the applicable shift loading paid.
• Weekend overtime may occasionally be required, although this is expected to be rare.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completing scheduled preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs and breakdown work.
• Performing welding, fabrication and steel repairs using a range of welding processes.
• Maintaining conveyor systems, hoists, wheels and associated equipment.
• Fabricating, modifying and repairing metal components and structures.
• Using cutting, grinding, drilling and other hand and power tools.
• Reading technical drawings and specifications where required.
• Identifying equipment issues and helping minimise unplanned downtime.
• Completing maintenance records and keeping scheduled tasks up to date.
• Assisting with general site maintenance and supporting other trades, including electricians, when required.
• Maintaining a clean work area and following site safety and quality procedures.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience as a Boilermaker, Fitter, Maintenance Boilermaker or in a similar role.
• A relevant boiler making, fitting or related trade qualification.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills across multiple processes.
• Experience maintaining industrial plant, machinery and production equipment.
• Familiarity with conveyor systems, hoists and mechanical equipment.
• The ability to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• A current Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence.
• A current Confined Space ticket.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• A flexible, practical approach and willingness to assist other trades.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
• A current driver's licence and reliable transport.
