Job summary

Driveline Services Australia is seeking a reliable Trades Assistant for the Mackay, QLD workshop. The role supports tradespeople with disassembly, blasting and cleaning of industrial parts, while assisting in a busy workshop and yard environment.

Ideal candidates show enthusiasm, strong attention to detail, and a solid commitment to safety. A manual driving licence and forklift ticket are essential, with ongoing training and development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and motivated team member with a good work ethic and strong attention to detail.
• Reliability and commitment to safety in a workshop environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration in a hands‑on setting.
• Basic understanding of workshop safety and housekeeping practices.
• Experience in a mechanical workshop is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, sand blast and pressure wash of industrial parts and components.
• Deliver and collect parts in company vehicle.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation.
• Assist Tradesman in a mechanical workshop as required.
• Perform other general duties to keep the workshop and yard orderly.

About the role

Driveline Servicesis seeking a reliable and motivated Trades Assistant for our Mackay, QLDbranch. The successful candidate will play an important role in our team to deliver high-quality service to our clients.

What you'll be doing

• Disassemble, sand blasting and pressure washing of industrial parts and components.
• Delivery and collection of parts and components in company Vehicle.
• Maintaining Workshop cleanliness and organisation.
• Assist Tradesman in a mechanical workshop as required.
• Other General Duties required to maintain an organised, clean workshop and yard.

• Reliable with a great work ethic and housekeeping skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A solid commitment to safety

Essential

• Manual Driver’s License
• Forklift Ticket

Highly regarded but not essential

• Sound mechanical aptitude
• Experience using sand blasters, bandsaw, grinders, impact tools and other mechanical hand tools.
• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant in a mechanical workshop or similar
• Industrial painting experience
