Job summary

WorkPac Group seeks a dedicated Trade Assistant/Workshop Assistant to support busy workshop operations in a mining, industrial, or construction setting. You will assist tradespeople, help with repairs, and prepare equipment for maintenance.

Ideal candidates have practical mechanical aptitude, able to work physically, hold a current Driver's Licence, and work well in a team within a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Trade Assistant/Workshop assistant experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Able to perform physically demanding work.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Team player with good attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with daily workshop operations.
• Support fitters and maintenance personnel with repairs.
• Assist spray painting and abrasive blasting crews.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance activities.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Load, unload, and move materials around the workshop.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment.

What You Will Be Doing

What You Will Need

• Previous experience in a Trade Assistant, Workshop Assistant, Labouring, or Industrial role
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Current Driver's Licence
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Reliable work ethic and positive attitude

Highly Regarded

Experience supporting Fitters, Boilermakers, or Mechanical Trades including:

• Abrasive Blasting experience
• Industrial, mining, or maintenance workshop experience
• High Risk Work Licences
