Job summary

Merivale in Sydney is seeking passionate hospitality professionals to join our venues on a full-time basis as Sommeliers, Wait Staff, or Hosts. You will engage with guests, learn the food and beverage menus, take orders and deliver outstanding service across a range of venues.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in hospitality, experience with POS systems, and a proven ability to work in fast-paced environments while coordinating with kitchen and bar teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant experience in hospitality industry.
• Confident with customer engagement; greet guests, discuss menu, take orders and serve guests.
• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant, bistro, or hotel.
• Ability to work closely with kitchen and bar staff.
• Setting/clearing tables to a high standard, managing multiple tables per service, proactively meeting guest needs.
• Experience using point-of-sales systems, taking payments.

The Role

We are looking for quality and talented Sommelier’s, Wait Staff and Hosts to join our teams on a full-time basis. We have roles available at a variety of our venues and there is an opportunity to join at different levels across Sydney. To be successful in one of these roles you will need the following experience and attributes:

• 2+ years relevant experience in the industry
• Confident with customer engagement; including greeting guests, ability to learn and discuss food and beverage menu, taking orders and serving guest
• Previous experience in a fast -paced restaurant, bistro, or hotel
• Ability to work closely with kitchen and bar staff
• Understanding of setting and clearing tables to a high standard, managing multiple tables in one service, and pre-empting the guests needs
• Experience using point-of-sales machines, taking payment
