Job summary

Coxons Group Australia is seeking a motivated Trade Assistant / Workshop Assistant to support our team of experts specialising in radiators and heat exchangers for mining clients, based in Rockhampton. You will strip, clean, sandblast, test components, assist trade personnel, photograph components, and help with documentation while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role offers a tight-knit team, a 40-hour week on a fortnightly roster, and opportunities to learn and grow in a hands-on

Qualifications

• Are mechanically minded with hands-on experience.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools preferred.
• Strong commitment to health & safety and following SOPs.
• Well organised, punctual and reliable.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Physically fit for manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Strip, clean, and test radiators and cooling components.
• Sandblast and buff radiator tubes.
• Assist trade personnel and radiator repairers as needed.
• Photograph components and complete job documentation.
• Conduct preliminary quality inspections.

We are seeking a motivated Trade Assistant / Workshop Assistant to support our crew of experts who specialise in radiators and heat exchangers for some of the biggest names in mining.

What's the role?

Based in Rockhampton and reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you'll form a part of our Strip & Assess team and be responsible for:

• Stripping, cleaning, and testing radiators and cooling components
• Sandblasting and buffing radiator tubes
• Assisting trade personnel and radiator repairers as needed
• Photographing components and completing job documentation
• Conducting preliminary quality inspections
• Ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards

About You:

You'll be a great fit if you:

• Are mechanically minded and enjoy hands-on work
• Have experience using hand tools and power tools
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to health & safety
• Can follow instructions and standard operating procedures
• Are well organised, punctual and reliable
• Have good written and verbal communication
• Are physically fit and able to perform manual tasks

Previous experience with radiators, cooling components or working on heavy equipment will be highly regarded.
