Coastal Bus Works on the Gold Coast seeks a Trade Assistant / General Labourer for our heavy vehicle workshop in Molendinar. You’ll support tradespeople with a range of hands-on duties, assist with removing and refitting vehicle parts, sand and prep work, wash vehicles, and help keep the workshop clean and organised to maintain smooth operations.

Experience isn’t essential as we’re happy to train the right person.

Trade Assistant / General Labourer – Heavy Vehicle Workshop

We are a small, locally owned business based in Molendinar on the Gold Coast. We specialise in heavy vehicle repairs and spray painting and are looking for a Trade Assistant / General Labourer to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and happy to get in and help out wherever needed. The role will involve a range of general workshop duties including assisting our tradesmen, removing and refitting vehicle parts, sanding and preparation work, washing vehicles, cleaning and keeping the workshop organised.

Experience in a workshop or similar hands‑on role would be great, but isn't essential. We are happy to train the right person. More importantly, we're looking for someone with a good attitude, who turns up on time and is willing to learn.

For someone who is keen to develop their skills or work towards a trade, we're also happy to support further training or apprenticeship opportunities for the right person.

One of the biggest benefits of working with us is the work/life balance. Our standard hours are:

Monday to Thursday – 6:00am to 2:30pm

Friday – 6:00am to 12:00pm

Overtime is available from time to time for anyone who wants the extra hours, but it isn't expected or required.

We pay above award rates and believe in giving our team a good balance between work and life outside of work.

Applicants must have a current driver's licence and be able to work full-time hours in Australia.
