Job summary

Jobwire in Wetherill Park, Sydney NSW, is seeking a reliable Trade Assistant to join the manufacturing and maintenance team on a casual basis with a genuine path to permanency. You will support daily maintenance activities and assist with machinery setup in a hands-on, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a trade, workshop or manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use power tools safely.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence.
• Physically fit with manual handling capability.
• Strong commitment to WHS and safe work practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Supervisors with daily maintenance activities.
• Support preventative maintenance schedules and equipment breakdown repairs.
• Assist with machinery setup, tool changes and basic mechanical tasks.
• Perform basic grinding, drilling, cutting and use of power tools.
• Assist with workshop maintenance, factory improvements and general repairs.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and gantry cranes where appropriately licensed and trained.
• Receive, move and organise materials throughout the factory.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
• Complete maintenance records as required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow all WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.
