Job summary

Momentum Consulting is seeking a reliable Trade Assistant for a busy Prestons workshop. This full-time role offers an immediate start with a potential to transition from temporary to permanent for the right person.

You will support tradespeople, perform general labouring, move and prepare equipment, and maintain a safe, clean work area. Electrical exposure is highly preferred and prior workshop experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in trades, workshop or mechanical work is advantageous.
• Electrical experience or exposure is highly preferred.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-minded candidate is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with day-to-day tasks in the workshop and on-site.
• Perform general workshop and labouring duties.
• Move, handle and prepare equipment and materials.
• Use basic hand and power tools.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Undertake other duties as required.

About the Role

As a Trade Assistant, you will support the trades and workshop team with a variety of hands‑on duties, including:

• Assisting tradespeople with day-to-day tasks
• General workshop and labouring duties
• Moving, handling and preparing equipment and materials
• Using basic hand and power tools
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Following workplace health and safety procedures
• Other duties as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on environment
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
• Willing to learn and take direction
• Safety-conscious with a positive attitude
• Electrical experience or exposure is highly preferred
• Previous Trade Assistant, workshop or mechanical experience is advantageous
