Job summary

Australian Heritage Restorations in Cardiff NSW invites applications for a Trade Assistant on a contract basis. You will join a small team to assist tradespeople, help with site setup, and support logistics on Newcastle/Central Coast projects.

The role emphasizes safety, site housekeeping, and adherence to WHS regulations. A white card, WWCC, and a valid driver’s licence are required, with heritage restoration experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
• Heritage restoration experience highly desirable.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Must hold a valid white card and WWCC eligibility.
• Must obtain a National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes.
• Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol tests at any time.
• Must hold a valid driver's licence and have access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• General labouring and site maintenance.
• Assist tradespeople with daily tasks including site preparation, tool handling, and material movement.
• Operate tools within scope of skills and experience.
• Support site and workshop coordination and logistics.
• Ensure good housekeeping on site and in the workshop where applicable.
• Participate in safety observations and toolbox discussions.
• Follow safety procedures and work closely with a small team.

With work located in Newcastle/Central Coast and regional areas we are seeking to appoint Trade Assistants to join our team on a contract basis.

About the role

As a Trade Assistant, working on our projects, you will working within a team to ensure site set-up.

Key Responsibilities

• General labouring and site maintenance


• Assist tradespeople with daily tasks including site preparation, tool handling, and material movement


• Operate tools within scope of skills and experience


• Support site and workshop coordination and logistics


• Ensure good housekeeping practices on site and where relevant in the workshop


• Participate in and sign off on safety observations and toolbox discussions


• Follow safety procedures and work closely with a small team


• Ensure all company assets are secure and used safely and competently

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of Workplace, Occupation Health and Safety regulation


• Heritage restoration experience, highly desirable


• Hold a current First Aid Certificate


• Must hold a valid white card


• Must hold a driver's licence and have access to a vehicle


• Must be able to apply for Working with Children Check (WWCC)


• Must be able to obtain a National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes


• Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test at anytime
