Job summary

The City of Ryde library service is seeking a Library Technician to manage the Toy Library collection at North Ryde Library. This permanent, full-time role covers cataloguing, processing, maintenance and ongoing development of the toy collection to meet community needs.

As a senior team member you will supervise staff, assist customers with library technology, and contribute to reader advisory services and branch activities, including rhyme-time, while maintaining a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Library and Information Services or equivalent with ALIA recognition.
• Experience and knowledge of cataloguing and producing high quality records.
• Experience in supervising staff.
• Teamwork and ability to work independently.
• Prioritising and multi-tasking.
• Experience in early literacy activities for children.
• Enthusiasm for technology and helping customers with library tech.
• Experience in public library environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage cataloguing, processing, maintenance and development of the Toy Library collection at North Ryde Library.
• Support the Team Leader by supervising staff and assisting with a variety of tasks.
• Assist customers with library technology and Reader Advisory services.
• Lead branch activities such as rhyme-time and other programs.
• Maintain a safe, neat and welcoming library environment.
