Colourful Collective Travel, a Sydney and NSW region-based tour operator, seeks a Tourism Business Coordinator to merge operations, sales and marketing with flexible, part-time hours. Based in Sydney, you will collaborate with the business owner and Marketing Manager to drive growth while balancing your lifestyle.

You will oversee day tours, respond to client inquiries, foreplan rosters, and pursue new business with travel partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field or minimum 3 years in tourism.
• Must have Australian work rights.
• Able to learn software and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, coordination and implementation of day tours.
• Respond to and engage with customer enquiries by phone, email and WhatsApp.
• Coordinate with drivers and guides to foreplan monthly rosters.
• Initiate and gain business from identified, potential clients to help drive business growth.
• Network and attend local, interstate and international sales conferences.
• Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure synchronicity between digital platforms and traditional sales channels.
• 2 days a week making sales calls visiting travel agents, accommodation, and university campuses.
• Oversee morning dispatch 3 days a week from 7am – 8am, followed by general business administration.

Working for an SME business in the tourism industry, this Tourism Business Coordinator role is broad ranging and a great fit for people who like autonomy, variety, flexibility and an opportunity to to work with the business owner (based in Bathurst) and Marketing Manager (based in Newcastle).

This role needs to be Sydney based and encompasses operations, sales and marketing, with the hours and work days designed to fit your lifestyle and commitments. Make an impact, participate and contribute to medium and long-term planning and strategy to ensure both business growth and your own professional development.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the planning, coordination and implementation of day tours

Respond to and engage with customer and client enquiries by phone, email and WhatsApp

Coordinate with drivers and guides to foreplan monthly rosters

Initiate and gain business from identified, potential clients to help drive business growth

Network and attend local, interstate and international sales conferences

Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure synchronicity between digital platforms and traditional sales channels

2 days a week making sales calls visiting travel agents, accommodation, and university campuses

About you

Must hold a bachelor's degree in any field or have a minimum of 3 years working in the tourism industry

Must hold work rights in Australia without restrictions

Be comfortable learning and using a range of software

Possess initiative and the ability to problem solve under pressure

Implement and use AI to help with customer service and business efficiencies

Handle challenges calmly, showing empathy and clarity in seeking resolutions

Completes work understanding the detail required and the overall objective

Comfortable liaising and networking with sales partners, suppliers and government agencies

Available to network and attend industry events outside normal business hours

Represent the business professionally and ethically in both the public and business environment

Be well presented, punctual and prepared when meeting and dealing with clients and customers

30 hours per week as Part-time Employee or Contractor with ABN

Work from home, as well as a city based desk option

High local sales performance leads to interstate sales visits (Melbourne/Brisbane) and international trade shows and B2B meetings
