Job summary

First 2 Learn Early Learning Centre in Rockdale offers a full-time Certificate III Trainee – Assistant Educator position in the Toddler Room. You will study towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care while gaining practical experience in a professional early learning environment.

The trainee receives on-the-job support from experienced educators, with the opportunity to earn while you learn and develop essential skills for a future career in early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • Be eligible to undertake a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care traineeship.
  • Have genuine interest in pursuing a career in early childhood education.
  • Be willing to complete all required training and assessments.
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a NSW Police Check.
  • Be willing to complete required child protection and first aid training (HLTAID012).
  • Meet all applicable regulatory and employment requirements for working in an early childhood education and care service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist educators in providing a safe, nurturing, stimulating and engaging environment for toddlers.
  • Build warm and meaningful relationships with children and support their individual needs and development.
  • Participate in play-based learning experiences and activities.
  • Assist with implementing educational programs in accordance with the EYLF.
  • Support children's routines, including meals, rest, hygiene and transitions.
  • Work collaboratively with educators and contribute positively to the team.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families and colleagues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming learning environment.
  • Follow centre policies, procedures and relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Develop your knowledge and skills throughout your Certificate III traineeship with the support of the centre team.

About the Opportunity

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Certificate III Trainee – Assistant Educator within our Toddler Room.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young children and would like to study towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care while gaining valuable practical experience in a professional early learning environment.

The successful trainee will receive on-the-job support and guidance from our experienced educators while developing the knowledge, skills and confidence required to build a rewarding career in early childhood education.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position.

Key Responsibilities

As a Certificate III Trainee, you will:

  • Assist educators in providing a safe, nurturing, stimulating and engaging environment for toddlers.

About You

Previous experience in an early learning environment is desirable but is not essential for the right trainee. We welcome applicants who are motivated to learn and develop their skills.

You will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn, listen and follow professional guidance, particularly in relation to child protection, supervision, professional boundaries and safe practices. You will be expected to uphold the Child Safe Standards, respect children's rights and dignity, and ensure that your interactions with children are always appropriate, respectful and focused on their individual needs, wellbeing, learning and development.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this traineeship, applicants must:

  • Be eligible to undertake a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care traineeship.

  • Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in early childhood education.

  • Be willing to complete all required training and assessments associated with the traineeship.

  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a NSW Police Check.

  • Be willing to complete required child protection and first aid training, including HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting, as required.
