Job summary

Cessnock Kids Preschool & Early Learning Centre in Cessnock NSW is seeking a Trainee Educator to join our supportive team while completing a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. You will learn from experienced educators and gain hands-on experience in a high-quality early childhood setting.

You will work closely with staff to support children's learning, develop EYLF/NQF knowledge, and build positive relationships with families.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a nationally recognised traineeship in ECEC.
• Current Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain).

About the Role

As a Trainee Educator, you will work alongside experienced educators while completing your nationally recognised qualification. Every day will provide opportunities to learn, grow and contribute to creating meaningful learning experiences for children.

You will gain practical experience in supporting children's learning and development while developing your knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and best practice in early childhood education.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Support educators in delivering high-quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
• Assist with creating safe, engaging and inclusive learning environments.
• Build warm, respectful and positive relationships with children, families and fellow educators.
• Support daily routines, play experiences and educational activities.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Centre.
• Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and contribute positively to daily operations.
• Participate in professional development, training and workplace mentoring.
• Learn about the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and early childhood best practice.
• Contribute to creating a welcoming environment where every child feels safe, respected and has a genuine sense of belonging.

• Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
• Completion of the National Child Safety Foundation Training through the Geccko platform, or willingness to complete prior to commencement.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for every child.
• Willingness to participate in all required child safety screening, induction and ongoing professional learning.
