Job summary

The Attorney-General's Department is seeking a senior Manager, Tobacco and Vaping in Adelaide to lead a specialist regulatory function addressing illicit tobacco and vaping activity. You will oversee regulatory activities under the Tobacco and E-Cigarette Products Act 1997 and work with chiefs across CBS, AGD, SAPOL and other authorities to ensure effective and proportionate responses.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership experience across regulatory, compliance, enforcement or investigation environments.
• Sound knowledge of legislation, evidence and regulatory practice.
• Ability to navigate complex and sensitive matters and make proportionate, defensible decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex investigations and enforcement actions with oversight of inspections, evidence management and safety controls.
• Coordinate taskforces and multi-agency operations with SA Police and other regulators.
• Exercise regulatory judgement and delegated authority, overseeing notices, expiations and lawful actions.
• Strengthen regulatory practice and outcomes through high-profile investigations guidance on strategy, risk and court proceedings.
• Build specialist capability by leading teams and prioritising resources for intelligence-led compliance.
