Job summary

Australian Tissue Donation Network is seeking a Tissue Coordinator based in Frenchs Forest, NSW. In this full-time role, you will coordinate end-to-end tissue donation, liaising with hospitals, clinicians and donor families to ensure compliance and quality across the process.

You will assess donor histories, provide information to donors, maintain records, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The role includes on-call duties and ongoing education opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Would suit a nursing, science or allied healthcare professional with experience in a clinical or medical setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the tissue donation and transplantation process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with hospitals, clinicians and donor families to coordinate all aspects of the tissue donation process from referral to recovery.
  • Receipting and swabbing of incoming tissue.
  • Assess donor medical and social histories to determine tissue donation eligibility.
  • Provide comprehensive information and support to potential donors throughout the donation process.
  • Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the medical and hospital team to facilitate Living Donor Programs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures and training programs.
  • Participate in on-call duties and respond to tissue donation referrals as required.
