Job summary

Lifeblood in Parramatta is seeking a Nursing Assistant to deliver exceptional donor experiences. No prior blood collection experience required; full training is provided to learn the donation process.

Your day includes greeting donors, performing basic health checks, setting up equipment, assisting with blood collection, and supporting post-donation care. The role operates on a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday with penalties, superannuation, and salary packaging on offer.

Qualifications

• Occasionally lift between 9-22.7 kg.
• Able to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster Monday to Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview potential donors to assess eligibility and suitability.
• Create a donor experience they'll love and want to return.
• Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.
• Set up machines and donation equipment.
• Insert and remove needles safely for blood collection.
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist with rebooking.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve collection targets.

About the role

Step into a rewarding role as a Nursing Assistant where you will bring excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors.

You will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. Full training is provided so, along with the above, all you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological product.

A day in the centre could see you:

• Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
• Create a donor experience they'll love and want to come back Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
• Set up machines and collections equipment
• Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation
• Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets

No previous blood collection experience is required. Our paid training program blends hands-on practice with online learning to set you up for success. What's essential is your passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience, supported by proven customer-facing experience that you can draw on in every interaction.

Your skills in action will include:

• Apply your customer-facing experience to create positive, welcoming interactions
• Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
• Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
• Support and foster a fantastic team culture
• Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
• Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
