Job summary

National Timber & Hardware Association – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Frame & Truss Trainee to join our team in Morningside, QLD. This paid 18-24 month traineeship offers hands-on work and full training from day one.

You will manufacture timber frames and roof trusses, read basic plans, and learn safe operation of saws and machinery in a modern manufacturing facility with mentoring and career progression.

Qualifications

• Interest in timber and construction and willingness to learn.
• Positive attitude with ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Physical fitness for a hands-on role.
• Driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture timber house frames, wall frames and roof trusses.
• Use saws, hand tools and machinery with full training provided.
• Load and prepare timber for machining.
• Read and interpret basic house plans.
• Measure and cut timber to required profiles.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain quality standards and minimise waste.

Enjoy hands-on work and interested in timber and construction? NTHA Trainees & Apprentices are seeking a motivated Frame & Truss Manufacturing Trainee to join our host employer in Morningside.

Our host employer is a leading timber frame and truss manufacturer supplying residential builders across Southeast Queensland. You’ll join a supportive team in a modern manufacturing facility, building timber frames and roof trusses used in residential construction.

This is a great opportunity for someone reliable and eager to learn, with full training, mentoring and support throughout the traineeship.

What you’ll do:

• Manufacture timber house frames, wall frames and roof trusses
• Use saws, hand tools and machinery, with full training provided
• Load and prepare timber for machining
• Read and interpret basic house plans
• Measure and cut timber to required profiles
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE correctly
• Maintain quality standards and minimise waste
