Job summary

Department of Education Victoria – Coburg VIC is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Thriving Kids program, delivering early intervention and allied health support for children aged 0–8 with developmental delay or autism. You will assess, advise and tailor practical strategies to help children participate in daily activities and routines.

You’ll work with families to build confidence, coordinating across home, early childhood and school settings, and collaborating with schools,

Qualifications

• Qualified Physiotherapist with registration or eligibility for membership.
• Experience in child development, early intervention and family-centered practice.
• Ability to apply evidence-informed assessment, intervention and advice for 0–8 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-informed physiotherapy assessment and intervention tailored to each child and family.
• Collaborate with families to build parents' skills and confidence for everyday activities.
• Deliver targeted, time-limited support to enhance participation and inclusion.
• Adapt approaches across home, early childhood, and school environments.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate responses across allied health and Thriving Kids roles.
• Foster partnerships with early childhood services, schools and health/community services.
