Job summary

Thriving Kids is a new service in Victoria led by the Department of Education. We’re seeking experienced Psychologists to support children aged 0–8 with developmental delay or autism and low to moderate support needs, working with families and professionals across education, health and community services.

You’ll deliver developmental assessments, information and advice, and targeted, time-limited allied health support to help children participate and thrive in everyday life.

Qualifications

• Qualifications and eligibility for registration/membership as a Psychologist.
• Knowledge and experience in child development and early intervention.
• Experience with children aged 0–8 years and their families/caregivers.
• Ability to apply sound clinical reasoning and evidence-informed assessment and advice.

Responsibilities

• Bring clinical expertise to early intervention with evidence-informed assessment, intervention and advice tailored to each child and family.
• Work with families to build parents' and carers' knowledge, skills and confidence for everyday activities and routines.
• Deliver targeted, time-limited support to help children participate and thrive in everyday life.
• Think creatively about how support is delivered across home, early childhood and school environments and adapt to each child and family needs.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to develop coordinated responses with allied health and Thriving Kids roles.
• Build partnerships with early childhood services, schools, Maternal and Child Health and health/community services.
