Job summary

Brightwater Care Group seeks a Therapy Assistant to work with a multidisciplinary team, traveling to clients’ homes in the central West suburbs of Perth to support functional goals within a 12-week program.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or progress towards).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• The ability to prioritise your workload, problem solve, and work safely and efficiently under pressure without direct supervision.
• A positive, proactive and a client-focused approach.
• A First Aid Certificate (less than 3 years old) including CPR less than 12 months old.
• Current valid driver’s licence to drive in Western Australia, as defined by the WA Department of Transport. (essential)
• A reliable, insured car (essential)
• A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than one year old

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities and therapy in a 12-week program.
• Travel to clients’ homes to provide support under the direction of physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Job description

Our Therapy Assistants work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide assistance in all aspects of day-to-day care and individualised therapy, lifestyle and leisure programs to meet the needs of our clients who live in the community.

Under the direction of physiotherapists and occupational therapists you will work independently and travel to our clients’ homes to support them in achieving their functional goals in a 12-week program. This will include assisting them with personal care (showering, toileting etc).

We are seeking a Therapy Assistant that lives close to our elderly clients living in and around the central West suburbs of Perth. Preference will be given to a someone living close to the Perth City, Osborne Park,Scarborough, NedlandsandFremantlearea.

This is a casual opportunity where typical hours would be anywhere between 8am to 4.30pm
