Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions in New South Wales is seeking Therapeutic Youth Workers to support young people in out-of-home care. This permanent part-time role offers guaranteed hours, regular rosters, and a base pay up to $40.49 per hour plus superannuation and penalties depending on qualifications and experience.

You’ll assist with trauma-informed care, activity planning, medication administration documentation, and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Active support: meal prep, dressing, transportation, social outings, plan for and achieve daily goals.
• Health support: administer and document medication and follow health support plans.
• Positive behaviour support: manage behaviours, triggers and escalations.
• Safeguarding: ensure safety of you and the young person, documentation and reports.

About you

• Relevant qualifications or willingness to enrol in a Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, Education, Mental Health related field.
• Experience supporting children and/or young people with complex needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Empathy, resilience, and a solutions-focused mindset.
• Unrestricted driver’s license.
• Regular availability across a range of shifts, including weekends and overnights.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or challenging life circumstances, creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments to help them develop emotional regulation, life skills, and positive relationships.
