Job summary

Big Brown House is seeking passionate Therapeutic Support Workers to join our casual team across the Hunter region. You will support children and young people in a therapeutic residential setting, manage challenging situations, and deliver high-quality care on a shift basis, including overnights and weekends.

Applicants must have a Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services or related field, a current First Aid certificate, a Working with Children Check, a National Criminal History Check,

Qualifications

• Must have a Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Children’s Services, Counselling, Case Management, or related field.
• Current First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, and National Criminal History Check.
• Comprehensive induction and ongoing training provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage challenging situations with a positive attitude while following policy and legislation.
• Deliver high-quality services to children and young people with complex needs in a therapeutic setting.
• Provide active support in daily activities: dressing, meals, transport, and daily goals.
• Build trusting, nurturing relationships through active engagement.
• Administer medications according to health plans and protocols.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision and within a team.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of all children and young people at all times.
