Job summary

Big Brown House (BBH) is seeking passionate Therapeutic Support Workers for casual shifts in the Sydney region. The role involves supporting children and young people in a therapeutic residential setting with a focus on safety, care, and development.

You will work with minimal supervision, provide day-to-day activities support, and ensure wellbeing under policy and health plans. Training, induction, and ongoing supervision are provided to develop professionally within a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Children’s Services, Counselling, Case Management, or relevant field.
• Current paid Working with Children Check.
• Clear and current National Criminal History Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Manage challenging situations with a positive attitude while following policy and legislation.
• Deliver high quality services to children and young people with complex needs in a therapeutic residential setting.
• Provide active support, model positive behaviour, and assist with day-to-day activities (getting dressed, meals, activities, transportation).
• Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships through active engagement with children and young people.
• Administer medication and understand health and wellbeing plans in line with documentation and protocols.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision, both individually and as part of a team.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of all children and young people at all times.
