Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a compassionate Play Facilitator to join the Newpin team in North Parramatta. This permanent part-time role supports parents and children (0-10 years) through trauma-informed, play-based activities in a therapeutic playroom.

You will help strengthen attachment and emotional regulation while modelling positive parent-child interactions. Work 63 hours per fortnight, Monday to Thursday with alternate Fridays, with wellbeing support and supervision within a strong clinical

Qualifications

Bachelor qualification in a relevant field with experience working with children (0–10 years).
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment theory.
Experience building therapeutic relationships and managing challenging behaviours.
Ability to support parents in developing positive parenting skills.
Ability to capture meaningful family observations and translate into clear written documentation.

Responsibilities

Facilitate therapeutic play sessions for parents and children (0–10 years).
Support the development of positive parent-child relationships.
Provide strategies to guide children's behaviour and help with emotional regulation.
Implement trauma-informed practices in a safe and nurturing environment.
Collaborate with the team to create stimulating, educational play programs.
