Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a compassionate support worker to provide practical, person-centred assistance to children, families and carers across regional locations. You will collaborate with managers, clinicians and community partners to deliver safe, coordinated support that strengthens parenting capacity and wellbeing.

The role requires experience with trauma-informed practice, strong communication and the ability to work flexibly across locations.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering direct support to children, young people or those with complex support needs.
• Understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based and child-safe practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with accurate records.
• Current NSW driver license and ability to travel across the region.
• Vehicle with third-party property insurance for work-related travel.
• Current Working with Children Check and willingness to complete a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-home and community-based support tailored to family needs.
• Assist families to strengthen parenting skills, routines and daily living capabilities.
• Support participation in education, appointments, social, recreational and community activities.
• Provide transport and supervised family contact support where required.
• Respond to enquiries, complete required administration and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Work within funding guidelines, program targets, organisational policies and safe work practices.
