Job summary

Global Vision Recruitment Consultants is assisting a well-established Thai restaurant in North Strathfield, NSW to find an experienced Chef. You will plan and cook authentic Thai dishes, monitor quality, manage stock and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high standards and efficient service.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Commercial Cookery (or 3+ years’ Chef experience), and at least 2 years in Thai or Asian cuisine.

Qualifications

Diploma in Commercial Cookery or higher; or 3+ years’ Chef experience in lieu of qualification.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef; Thai/Asian restaurant preferred.
Experience in Thai or Asian cuisine is desirable.

Responsibilities

Plan and prepare Thai menus and daily food requirements, estimate costs and coordinate ingredients.
Prepare and cook a range of authentic Thai dishes, including curries and stir-fries.
Monitor quality, consistency, flavour and presentation of dishes.
Coordinate with management and kitchen team on requirements and service demands.
Demonstrate Thai cooking techniques and guide kitchen staff in procedures.
Maintain food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
Monitor stock levels, minimise food wastage and manage storage.
Assist with training and supervising kitchen staff to maintain standards.
