Job summary

Global Vision Recruitment on behalf of Anacompany Pty Ltd T/A Khao Mai Thai is seeking a skilled Chef to join our Thai restaurant in Fitzroy North, Victoria. You will plan menus, cook authentic dishes, and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.

The role requires a minimum of one year in a professional kitchen with knowledge of Thai cuisine, strong attention to detail, and good teamwork to support smooth kitchen operations. 38 hours weekly, located at Fitzroy North VIC 3068.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of relevant experience in a professional kitchen.
• Experience preparing Thai cuisine preferred.
• Sound knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety.
• Ability to manage kitchen priorities during busy service.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan and refine menu items and daily specials, considering ingredient availability and costs.
• Prepare and cook a range of Thai dishes with authentic flavours and presentation.
• Monitor food quality during prep and service, checking freshness and seasoning.
• Estimate ingredient needs, order supplies and manage stock to minimise waste.
• Coordinate with management and front-of-house for timely service.
• Demonstrate cooking methods and guide kitchen staff on recipes.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Assist training and supervising kitchen staff for consistency.
