Job summary

Driscoll’s Australia Pty. Ltd. in Evandale, TAS, is seeking a hands-on professional to oversee the Tasmanian R&D test plot facility.

You will work with the Applied Research Manager and local Agronomy team to monitor berry trials, manage irrigation, fertigation, and pest/disease programs, and drive best-practice protocols for yield and quality. You will lead day-to-day site operations, including labour resourcing, planning and scheduling, and ensure safety and maintenance compliance while

Qualifications

• Completion of tertiary qualifications in Agronomy or Plant Science preferred but not essential
• Some research experience preferred but not essential
• Previous experience supervising small teams/temp labour
• Chemical Spraying Certification preferred but can provide on-the-job training
• Unrestricted drivers’ licence and full Australian working rights

Responsibilities

• Supervising the day-to-day operational activities of the site including labour resourcing, planning and scheduling
• Coordinating trial setup, layout and execution plans across irrigation, fertigation, and pest/disease programs
• Overseeing planning and harvesting activities at the site
• Collecting and analysing trial and harvest data and maintaining data integrity
• Providing regular reports to the Agronomy team
• Patching and dispatching fruit to distribution centers (DCs)

Job description

Thisis an exciting opportunity to be part of our Tasmania regional team, overseeingthe day-to-day running of our R&D test plot facility. Working closely with the AppliedResearch Manager and local Agronomy team, you will be responsible formonitoring test plot crops across all four of our berry categories.

You will beexecuting trials across irrigation, fertigation, and pest and disease programsand working towards putting together best-practice protocols to achieve optimalfruit yield and quality. You will also be supervising and coordinating theday-to-day operational activities of the site including labour resourcing,planning and scheduling as well as ensuring compliance with all site safety andmaintenance activities.

Someof your key duties will extend to:

• Supervising the growing andtrial activities extending to crop husbandry practices
• Contributing to trialparameters including set up, layout and execution plans
• Supervising the planning andharvesting activities on the site
• Collecting and analysing alltrial and harvest data and maintaining data integrity
• Providing regular reports toAgronomy team
• Packingand dispatching of fruit to DC’s

Tobe considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate thefollowing in your application:
