Job summary

Hudson Mitre 10, part of the Metcash Limited family, is seeking a driven Trade Account Manager to own a high-potential territory and accelerate growth. Based in St Marys, you’ll work in the field with builders, developers and trade professionals to open new accounts and forge long-term, profitable partnerships.

This role is about building your own customer base, expanding market share, and driving revenue through proactive business development activities.

Qualifications

• Proven success in business development, territory sales or account acquisition roles.
• Strong ability to identify opportunities and convert prospects into loyal customers.
• Experience within timber, hardware, building materials, construction or trade industry preferred.
• Autonomous field work with proactive approach.
• Confident in prospecting, networking, negotiating and closing deals.
• Excellent relationship-building and credibility-building skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities.
• Experience managing sales pipelines and using CRM systems.
• Outstanding communication, presentation and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and secure new trade customers across the Western Suburbs region.
• Develop and execute a territory growth plan focused on new business acquisition and market share expansion.
• Build strong relationships with builders, developers, contractors and trade professionals.
• Generate leads through networking, referrals, site visits, industry events and cold calling.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and onboarding.
• Present tailored timber, hardware and building material solutions that add value to customers.
• Seek opportunities to increase customer spend and expand product penetration.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and local opportunities to drive growth.
• Prepare and present quotes, proposals and business cases.
• Collaborate with internal teams for seamless customer experience and account implementation.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and track activity through CRM.
