Job description

At MyLife Housing and MyLife Community Housing, we believe there is no place like home. Across our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Affordable Housing portfolios, we provide quality, fit-for-purpose homes for NDIS participants and eligible individuals and families, creating places where residents can feel secure, independent and connected to their community. We believe a home should be a place of comfort and belonging, where people are proud to live and can enjoy easy access to transport, services and everyday amenities.

Our proactive and passionate team keeps the resident experience at the heart of what we do, and we are looking for team members who share our ethos and understand the importance of providing and maintaining quality homes.

As the Tenancy & Asset Coordinator, you will play an important role in the day-to-day management of tenancies and properties across both our SDA and Affordable Housing portfolios. You will manage an allocated portfolio, supporting residents throughout their tenancy while ensuring their homes are well maintained and property matters are responded to efficiently.

Working closely with the Tenancy & Asset Manager and broader team, you will build strong relationships with residents and a diverse range of stakeholders, coordinate inspections, maintenance and tenancy matters, and help deliver a positive resident experience.

This role is ideally suited to someone with an interest in property and tenancy management, community housing and disability housing, who enjoys working with people and is looking to grow their skills and career within a supportive and collaborative team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Manage an allocated portfolio of SDA and Affordable Housing properties and tenancies, with the support and guidance of the Tenancy & Asset Manager and broader team.
  • Coordinate tenancy matters from move-in through to vacate, including key handovers, incoming and outgoing condition reports, home risk assessments and routine property inspections.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and provide timely, professional support in relation to tenancy, property and maintenance matters.
  • Support the Maintenance team with repairs, maintenance and defects, including coordinating access and communicating with residents, trades, building managers and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tenancy, property and resident information across our property management systems, including MRI Palace and Reapit PM.
  • For our SDA portfolio, communicate and coordinate with NDIS participants, families, support coordinators, occupational therapists, allied health professionals and support providers where relevant to tenancy and property matters.
  • For our Affordable Housing portfolio, support residents throughout their tenancy and assist with relevant tenancy and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with building managers, tradespeople, third-party property managers, support providers and other stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support compliance with relevant tenancy, community housing, SDA and organisational policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Travel to properties within your allocated portfolio as required.
  • Attend and represent MyLife Housing and MyLife Community Housing at resident, community and industry events and exhibitions as required.
CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
  • A calm, friendly and professional approach with a genuine can-do attitude.
  • Strong customer service skills and a commitment to delivering a positive resident experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • A high degree of initiative and motivation, with the ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
  • Confidence working with policies, procedures, tenancy agreements, systems and registers.
  • Working knowledge of property management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel to MyLife Housing SDA properties and MyLife Community Housing Affordable Housing properties across Sydney, the Central Coast, Bathurst and the Illawarra.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain relevant screening requirements, including an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check and/or National Police Check, as required.
