Job summary

John Holland, in the Torrens to Darlington Alliance, is delivering South Australia’s 78 km motorway. The project seeks a Temporary Works Coordinator to coordinate all temporary works on site, supporting construction and supervision teams to deliver safe, efficient works.

You will review designs for compliance, liaise with design teams and subcontractors, conduct risk assessments and enforce safety across installation, use and dismantling of temporary works.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, building construction or equivalent.
  • Experience with a Tier 1 contractor in the local market is desirable.
  • Understanding of temporary works activities and relevant codes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all temporary works activities on the construction site.
  • Review and approve temporary works designs and ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Liaise with design teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders to coordinate activities.

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

Job Description

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.

The Role

The Temporary Works Coordinator will coordinate and manage all temporary works activities on site supporting the construction and supervision teams. This position will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and timely execution of temporary works to support overall project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage all temporary works activities on the construction site
  • Ensure that all temporary works designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
  • Review and approve temporary works designs and ensuring they meet project requirements
  • Liaise with design teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of temporary works activities
  • Conduct risk assessments and implementing appropriate control measures for temporary works
  • Monitor the installation, use, and dismantling of temporary works to ensure compliance with approved designs and safe working practices
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • Proven experience with a Tier 1 contractor in the local market is desirable
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of temporary work activities
  • Sub-contractor management including scope of works creation and tendering
  • Ability to collaborate with the site foreman and site staff for project needs and to deliver project updates in daily pre-start meetings
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
