Fusion Telecom is looking for motivated people who are ready to learn and become part of the telecommunications industry. No previous telecommunications experience is required.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to get your foot in the door of a fast-paced industry without committing to a lengthy apprenticeship pathway.

With the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn, you can develop your skills from fibre hauling and civil telecommunications work through to leading a small crew, troubleshooting network issues, testing fibre optics and progressing towards becoming an experienced Telecommunications Technician.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day work may include:

• Rod and roping telecommunications conduits

• Cleaning and preparing conduits and telecommunications pits

• Hauling optical fibre and telecommunications cables

• Assisting with site setups and pack-downs

• Manual handling and use of telecommunications equipment

• Identifying and solving problems in the field

• Use of a Vacuum Excavation Truck during Rod & Rope Duties

• Following workplace health and safety procedures

• Working alongside experienced telecommunications technicians and crew leaders

• Working away from home on some occasions as required by project locations and workloads

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Construction White Card

• Ability to obtain or provide a National Police Check

• Flexibility to work away from home on some occasions when required

Highly Regarded, But Not Essential

• MR Driver’s Licence

• HR Driver’s Licence

• Previous construction, civil, labouring or telecommunications experience
