Job summary

Endeavour Foundation is seeking a Technology Platform Engineer to design and support secure, scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure. You will work with Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and enterprise infrastructure to deliver reliable platforms aligned with our mission.

You will lead platform modernisation, implement automation and CI/CD, and contribute to architecture, standards and roadmaps while collaborating with stakeholders and partners across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale cloud/hybrid platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance and DR strategies.
• Experience with IaC and automation tooling (PowerShell, CI/CD).

Make an Impact

As a Technology Platform Engineer, you will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to design, implement, govern and continually improve Endeavour Foundation's cloud and infrastructure platforms.

You'll provide specialist technical expertise across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, cloud services and enterprise infrastructure, ensuring our technology platforms remain secure, resilient, reliable and aligned with organisational strategy.

Working collaboratively with technology teams, business stakeholders and strategic partners, you'll contribute to digital transformation, platform modernisation, operational excellence and service reliability, improving technology outcomes for our employees and customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, implement and support secure, scalable and resilient cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
• Engineer and optimise services across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, compute, storage, virtualisation and associated cloud technologies.
• Lead platform modernisation initiatives that improve security, reliability, performance, scalability and supportability.
• Use Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD practices to improve consistency, repeatability and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to platform architecture, technical standards, patterns and technology roadmaps.

Operational Excellence

• Monitor and optimise platform health, availability, capacity, performance, recoverability and service levels.
• Analyse incidents, recurring problems, service trends and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities including patching, backup, recovery, configuration, upgrades, capacity management and technical debt reduction.
• Support effective incident, problem and change management for business-critical technology services.
• Support vendor performance, SLA management and service improvement activities.

Security & Governance

• Embed Secure by Design principles into platform engineering, operational practices and technology change.
• Identify and manage information, technology and cyber risks in alignment with organisational risk frameworks, ACSC ISM controls and applicable ISO standards.
• Implement appropriate security controls across identity, cloud and infrastructure platforms.
• Support platform resilience, disaster recovery, backup and business continuity requirements.
• Ensure platforms remain secure, compliant and supportable while balancing business requirements and operational priorities.
• Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects, security specialists and suppliers to design and deliver effective technology solutions.
• Contribute to strategic Technology and Data initiatives aligned with Endeavour Foundation's Digital Enterprise Strategy and Roadmap.
• Provide clear communication and reporting on platform performance, risks, priorities, dependencies and outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership and specialist advice across platform and infrastructure initiatives.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues and contribute to capability uplift across the broader technology team.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong practical experience across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, networking, storage, compute, virtualisation and identity technologies.
• Experience with contemporary cloud technologies including containers, serverless services and managed platform services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, including technologies such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, Git and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, platform resilience, disaster recovery, backup and technology lifecycle management.
• Understanding of cloud governance principles including cost optimisation, resource management, security and operational governance.
• Knowledge of ITIL-aligned service management, including incident, problem, change and service-level management.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across complex cloud and hybrid environments.

Experience

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid technology platforms.
• Experience managing business-critical services against availability, performance, SLA and recovery objectives.
• Demonstrated success delivering cloud adoption, migrations, platform modernisation and operational transformation initiatives.Experience using service, vendor, lifecycle, utilisation and cost information to drive optimisation and evidence-based decision-making.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary technology teams and with external service providers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, IT Service Management or cybersecurity certifications will be highly regarded.
