Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
The Onset Group is hiring a Platform Engineer to own and evolve our cloud platforms. You will manage GCP and Kubernetes environments, build automated deployment pipelines, and drive reliability across engineering teams in a hybrid Sydney setup.
Join a team modernising cloud infrastructure with Terraform, CI/CD, and observability at the core. You’ll influence platform engineering practices and contribute to AI-assisted tooling adoption.
Sydney | Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days WFH
Setting the scene…Bureaucracy, legacy systems and red tape are just some of the challenges you might face working as a Platform Engineer. But what if you had the opportunity to focus on the things that really matter – stability, scalability, automation and building platforms that engineers genuinely enjoy working with?
What if you joined an established organisation investing heavily in modernising its cloud infrastructure, with the opportunity to influence how its technology platforms evolve?
You'll be working with modern cloud technologies including GCP, Kubernetes (GKE), Terraform and CI/CD, helping build the engineering foundations that development teams rely on every day.
This isn't just about keeping the lights on. It's about creating scalable, reliable and automated environments that make engineering faster, safer and more efficient.
The role…You'll be joining a collaborative engineering team focused on improving and modernising its cloud platform.
You'll take ownership of the underlying infrastructure, from provisioning GCP and Kubernetes environments to building automated deployment pipelines and improving platform reliability.
You'll also play an important role in supporting cloud migration initiatives, implementing monitoring and observability, and developing automation that reduces manual work across engineering teams.
The environment is hands-on, with opportunities to solve complex technical challenges, influence engineering practices and work with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
