Job summary

The Star Sydney is seeking a Technology Controls Manager on a 12-month contract to lead controls testing across technology, cyber and data risk. Reporting to the Director Controls and Testing and Compliance, you will ensure regulatory requirements are met and risk is managed effectively.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in technology risk, knowledge of audit standards, and familiarity with NIST, ISO 27000 and PCI DSS. The role offers a dynamic environment within a renowned hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of technology operational risk in regulated environments.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in technology risk management.
• Knowledge of audit and assessment standards (CISA, CRISC).
• Familiarity with cyber security frameworks (NIST, Essential 8, ISO 27000, PCI DSS).
• Governance and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and independent yet collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Lead walkthroughs to identify, document, and assess technology, cyber, and data risk.
• Execute technology control testing for design, effectiveness, residual risk, and compliance.
• Drive improvements to obligations and controls to strengthen risk management.
• Escalate key technology risk issues to governance forums.
