Job summary

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) invites applications for a Technologist role in Melbourne, Victoria. The role provides frontline technical support to ABC users, ensuring high availability of broadcast operations across baseband and IP technologies.

You will deliver timely, cost-efficient service, assist with fault logging, maintenance, and operational tasks, and support Master Control during shifts.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in technical support functions including troubleshooting, fault resolution, maintenance, upgrades and operations.
• Ability to manage workload and priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Strong client focus and effective communication with stakeholders.

The Role

• Southbank location
• Base salary $73K-$80K

The Role

This role will see you deliver timely, cost-effective, high-quality technology support services to ABC users in Victoria.

You will also provide straightforward technical assistance to minimise down time and ensure broadcast continuity around the clock. You’ll work across a range of baseband & IP Technologies, that may include audio studios one day, and production studios the next. Shift work is an inherent part of this position.

The Role Will Also Involve

About You

We are seeking a Technologist with demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience in broadcast Technology or related field. You will have sound communication skills with a strong client focus. In addition to your ability to interact positively with clients, understand and meet their needs, and convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.

You Will Also Have

• Demonstrated proficient capability in technical support functions, including troubleshooting, fault resolution, maintenance, upgrades, installation and operations.
• Ability to manage own workload and priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Demonstrated team commitment and interpersonal skills and behaviours.
• An understanding of the direction of technical innovation and its application in the broadcast industry.
